“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, said Jojen. The man who never reads lives only one.”

The same could be said about RPG players. I’m a roleplayer at heart. And it’s not always easy to balance it out when I’m also a bookworm. Either way, you find me buried in a story most of the time. I admire the art of them and people’s incredible minds. Their imagination to create whole new worlds and systems of magic. The ability to make me feel compassion and love, sorrow and heartbreak. Some stories have the power to destroy you and you love every minute of it. Not because you’re a masochist. But because their impact will never leave you. Their characters will forever haunt you.
I’ve been in the skin of characters that changed me as a person or helped me overcome times when being myself felt like the hardest thing in the world. They and their companions are now stitched in my heart. They become ghosts, always walking with me. Allowing me to call on their strength. Giving me hope when darkness threatens to devour me.
Stories have power. No matter if they’re inked on a page or woven into pixels. Just try not to forget to write your own.
